Who this guide is for
This guide is for a first-time founder who wants to launch a small online store without guessing their way through every software decision. It assumes you are still validating the business and need a practical sequence: customer, product, economics, platform, launch pages, and first-week measurement.
The intended outcome is not a perfect store. The outcome is a store that can take a real order, explain the offer honestly, and show you where to improve next.
Prerequisites before you choose software
Before you open a platform trial, write down four things:
- The buyer: who has the problem, where they already look for solutions, and what words they use.
- The product promise: what the product does, what it does not do, and why someone should trust it.
- The fulfillment path: inventory you own, print on demand, dropshipping, digital delivery, local pickup, or pre-order.
- The margin model: product cost, packaging, shipping, payment fees, returns allowance, app subscriptions, and marketing tests.
